"What it means to be man. Evil may have created it, left its mark on it, but evil does not rule it.
As recently shown in the Melbourne Fashion Week Emerging Designer Runway 2018, Jordana Halperin’s RMIT fashion honours collection Some Unholy War walks once more as part of her graduate showcase The Final Curtain.
Transforming the beloved Gasometer into our contemporary Globe Theatre, all gender identities command the stage. Adorned with Andrea Simmons handcrafted jewels, this collection examines the division between body and self. Working through rituals and sacrifice of body modification techniques, Jordana explores the human experience, with garments used as a form of self-expression. Aiming to unfold the question: How can the conceptualization of material as a second skin communicate the meanings and values of identity?
Accompanied by an array of musicians from our darkest dreams, including Habits, Dark Water, and Romy Fox, this line-up haunts for eternity."
